Day 15

12:36 am

Just finished Ocean's Eleven.
There were definitely stylistic
choices that I did not agree with,
including some shots that felt really
awkwardly planned. The music, as well,
was more or less terrible. What made this
movie great, however, was the how
fantastic the heist was. The plan here
was not flawless, and yet it worked out in the end.
The love story was understated, which was good,
and the cast was fantastic, though underused, I think.
I'm embarrassed that I hadn't seen it sooner.

Day 13

1:51 pm

slight detour,
I decided that the language
I'm going to learn is French.
Not because I think it sounds
particularly pleasant, but because
I want to be a pastry chef someday
and I'm hoping traveling to France
to study/cook is in the books.
I wanna be prepared.

6:53 pm

Just finished Sideways.
I ususally don't like Paul Giamatti, and his movies,
and this is no exception. If you watch with the sound off,
the film quality makes it seem like a much older
movie than just 2004, and its shot well,
but the entire first half is boring.
the second half, while more amusing,
still carries on a plot that I dont much care for.
To be honest, the best thing about Sideways,
is that it made me crave wine.

p.s How the hell was this up for a Best Picture Oscar?

Day 12

2:26 pm

I tried to watch Grosse Pointe Blank,
I really tried.
But I've gotten through 30 minutes and
I can't take it any longer.
I hate this movie, I see where it's going,
and I don't want to see anymore.
On to the next one.

Day 11

12:37
Morning Action Flick: Iron Man

Waaay better than I thought
it would be. Robert Downey Jr.
makes this movie, "charming"
in a way.

Day 10

7:42 pm
Movie of the day was Jackie Brown.
It's literally the perfect crime,
with a billion twists and turns along the way.
And of course, the music is
impeccable.
Currently my second favorite Tarantino,
in between Reservoir Dogs and
Pulp Fiction.

Day 9

9:13 pm

Today I will do this.

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

Day 5

10:21 am
I'm wasting time by watching a movie
not on the list.

I can't help it, I just woke up
with the craving to watch
Stranger Than Fiction.

Thursday, April 1, 2010

I'm not starting this until May 1st

I'm giving myself a year,
to complete 12 things I've always
wanted to do.
May 2010 - May 2011

The list is arranged by
circumstance, and by
season.

1. I'm embarrassed to say I've only seen 134
of these.

2. I have  a sewing machine, so why not?

3. I don't bake much, because I suck at it.
And I like food more than I like dessert.

4. It's harder than it looks.

5. Portuguese, or French. Or maybe
I'll reconnect with Spanish.

6. I might just do a recreation in marker,
paint and I aren't friends.

7. I write so much, it's probably about time
that I get published somewhere.

8. Who knows if I'll actually wear it.

9. Slightly less embarrassed to admit
I've only read 15 of these.

10. I might be underestimating how hard
this will be.

11. Most of the people on this list
don't even remember that I owe them.
There's 8 people, and about 250 dollars.

12. I doubt I'll actually be any good.
